Blue Certificate to Show We’re Green at Heart
Posted On: August 6, 2019Our water conservation efforts were recently recognized by the National Water Authority.
What would our plants be without water? More importantly, what would our planet be without this indispensable resource?
At Camposol we do our best to conserve water use on our crop fields. We’ve implemented techniques such as drip irrigation, whereby a network of hoses release small amounts of water over varying periods of time, depending on each crops’ necessary water intake. Factors such as the season and even the area of the field where the plants have taken root can change a plant’s hydrations needs which is why we have a dedicated team that constantly observes and analyzes plants for any necessary adjustments.
We take pride in our commitment to sustainable practices and environmental awareness, so when Peru’s National Water Authority awarded us the Certificado Azul (Blue Certificate) in honor of our conscientious use of water, on and off our crop fields, we were brimming over with pride.
Companies who receive the Certificado Azul are not only hydraulically responsible on their fields, but must also be committed to ensuring that the communities in the surrounding area have access to clean water.
We care about our community and the families of our team members, so Camposol has already worked alongside two schools within the vicinity of our fields in Peru that were in need of safe and clean water access. We were able to ensure that these schools received fully functional restrooms, including flushing toilets and all necessary tubing. In addition, the children were taught how to use water efficiently and the importance of protecting our natural resources.
Why do we do it? We know that in order to thrive—whether in the classroom or on the field—a healthy environment is basic.
