How We Are Continuing to Put Your Health and That of Our Employees First
Posted On: October 7, 2020The well-being of our team members and high standards for quality control have been long standing values that precede the current times of the pandemic. Since Camposol’s beginning, our vertical integration has allowed us complete control in every step along the way, meaning we can verify our commitment to health, hygiene and safety from the fields to your table with complete transparency.
In light of the ongoing global need for precautionary measures, we require all of our team members—from the fields to the administrative offices—to comply with the following preventative actions in order to ensure their safety and that of consumers like you:
Taking care of our team
- The temperature of every team member is taken at the beginning of the day prior to entering the facilities, offices or fields, after which hands need to be washed for 20 seconds using soap and water.
- Sanitary stations (alcohol gel dispensers and hand wash areas) are located throughout facilities, including common areas such as dining halls, restrooms and offices
- Because our team members live in the communities surrounding our fields, we provide transportation to and from work. All transportation vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each drop-off.
Risk-free work environment
- Face masks are required in all areas, which is why we provide them to all team members.
- Team members are required to wash their hands with high frequency as according to the World Health Organization (WHO) this provides better protection against contamination than disposable gloves.
- All team leaders and Medical Service personnel are responsible for ensuring that each member of the Camposol team follows the precautionary protocols mentioned above.
Healthy habits beyond our fields
- Through messaging and email, our Communications team keeps our team members up to date with the latest information and protocols according to Peru’s Ministry of Health.
- Our Medical Services team leads timely in-person talks to share best practices for avoiding spread and contamination that can be used both in the workplace as well as in the communities.
- Before returning to work after a vacation period, all team members are required to take a health exam.
Giving back to our community
- We have contributed to the National Confederation of Private Entrepreneurial Institutions (CONFIEP, in Spanish) to help them take care of the most vulnerable populations in Peru.
- As members of the Agro-Exporting Farmers with Land in Chavimochic association (APTCH, in Spanish), we have cooperated in order that fumigation tasks can be completed and water is delivered to our neighbors.
- APTCH has also donated water and health supplies to authorities and hospitals in our locality.
- We have donated sunscreen and face masks to the National Police and to EsSalud, and placed our trucks at their disposal in order to carry out fumigation tasks.
- Along with other companies in northern Peru, we have purchased PCR equipment in order to perform molecular testing.
- We have donated water and some of our all-natural products as well as other food items to some 3,000 families in need that reside in Virú and Chao.
- To the Directorate of the Health Network of Virú Province, we have provided oxygen tanks, kits for disinfection, buses to transfer medical personnel, and rapid Covid-19 tests.
- To EsSalud Viru, we have loaned 2 oxygen tanks and a van to transfer the oxygen tanks, as well as a bus to transfer team members and rapid Covid-19 tests.
- To the Regional Health Management, we have provided buses for the transportation of doctors and nurses.
- We donated N95 masks to the Virgen de la Puerta High Complexity Hospital (part of EsSalaud)
- We gathered necessary supplies for the disinfection of local markets in the Province of Virú.
